A burn injury is rarely a one-and-done medical event. Even when the first visit looks straightforward, complications can develop as healing progresses—especially with scarring, sensitivity, reduced range of motion, and pain that doesn’t match the initial “severity” description.
In our experience, residents often run into two calculator problems:
- They assume the burn healed on the timeline you input. In reality, treatment can extend—more dressing changes, therapy visits, or additional follow-up care.
- They don’t account for Florida case realities. Adjusters look closely at documentation, gaps in treatment, and whether the reported mechanism of injury matches the burn pattern.
That’s why a tool can be a starting point for organizing your questions, but it can’t replace a legal review of your evidence.
