Most burn calculators work by asking for basics such as burn type, initial treatment, and time missed from work. From there, they may generate a rough range for categories like medical expenses and certain non-economic impacts.
But in Golden burn cases, the biggest value swings usually depend on proof that a tool can’t automatically see:
- Depth and progression of the burn (what was initially diagnosed vs. what later developed)
- Functional impact (range of motion, hypersensitivity, nerve pain, grip/dexterity limits)
- Whether complications appear later (infection, scarring changes, contractures)
- Consistency of the timeline between the incident, treatment, and symptoms
If you rely on a tool without verifying the evidence behind it, you may either undervalue your case—or accept a settlement that doesn’t account for future care.
