After a burn injury, bills can pile up fast—ER co-pays, prescriptions, follow-up visits, and time away from work. Online tools may appear to “predict” a range by asking for details like burn location, severity, treatment steps, and missed work.
That can be useful for two reasons:
- It prompts you to think in categories (medical costs, therapy, lost wages, long-term care).
- It helps you build a question list for your attorney and treating providers.
But a tool can’t verify whether your burn pattern matches the incident you reported, whether your scarring will require future procedures, or whether you developed complications months later—issues that frequently affect settlement value in burn cases.
