Many AI tools generate a range after you enter basic facts like burn type, treatment, and scarring. That may be helpful for organizing thoughts. It can also be misleading in burn cases because:
- Burn injuries can worsen after the incident. Swelling, infection risk, and scar changes may take time.
- Work impact is not always immediate. Some people can’t return to their usual duties right away—especially when their job involves repetitive hand use, lifting, or working around heat sources.
- California claim handling is evidence-driven. Insurers want consistency: the incident story, the medical record timeline, and proof of damages.
If an estimate doesn’t reflect your treatment path—ER visit, follow-up care, therapy, prescriptions, possible procedures—its “value” can be far from what negotiations should account for.
