Fractures aren’t always straightforward on day one. Even when X-rays confirm an injury, adjusters may argue:
- the fracture was pre-existing or unrelated to the incident,
- the injury was worse later due to your activities,
- the treatment timeline is inconsistent,
- or the accident wasn’t severe enough to cause the specific bone damage.
Local patterns matter. Injuries involving commuter traffic, rear-end collisions, and side-impact crashes often produce competing explanations about impact forces and motion. Falls near entrances, sidewalks, and parking areas can also trigger disputes over whether warnings were present and how long the hazard existed.
When fault is contested, your claim needs more than “I hurt.” It needs a well-organized story supported by imaging, treatment notes, and documentation of how the injury affected your work and daily life.
