The fastest way to strengthen a claim is to act while details are still fresh and evidence is still available.
Do this ASAP:
- Get medical care (urgent care or an ER if warranted). Even “minor” injuries can worsen.
- Photograph the scene if it’s safe: road surface, lane position, traffic control devices, vehicle damage, bicycle damage, and visible injuries.
- Write down what you remember while it’s clear: direction of travel, where the turn/merge happened, lighting conditions, and whether you saw the vehicle before impact.
- Identify witnesses—including people who may have been near nearby businesses, parks, or sidewalks.
Avoid these common landmines:
- Giving a recorded statement before your medical situation is understood.
- Waiting too long to document symptoms.
- Assuming fault is “obvious” without evidence—Jenks-area crashes can turn into disputes once insurers review the paperwork.
