Washington is a community where bikes share the road with commuters, delivery traffic, and trucks traveling through the area. Many crashes aren’t caused by “bad luck”—they’re caused by moments that are easy to miss: drivers turning across a cyclist’s path, late braking near intersections, or hazards that appear suddenly on familiar routes.
After a crash, you may hear different versions of events—especially when the collision happened quickly or in traffic. In Indiana, that uncertainty matters. Insurance companies often try to narrow liability or reduce payouts by arguing you were partly responsible, the injuries are unrelated, or your treatment was delayed.
That’s why the “paperwork phase” has to start early: the sooner your story is documented and your medical record is aligned with the crash, the harder it is for the other side to sidestep responsibility.
